I have a very dear friend who I’ve known since I was in the 4th grade. Distance and schedules often keep us from being able to talk as much as we would both like, but when we have the opportunity to connect, it always fills both of our cups. After every conversation we promise not to let so much time pass between our next interaction. Unfortunately, schedules and responsibilities all get in the way and before long, we’re right back were we started. No love lost, just in need of more time and connection.
That’s how it is sometimes with our relationship with Jesus. We know we should spend more time with Him. We always enjoy it when we do. Our cup is filled to overflowing. After all, spending time with Him is what we are called to do. He is the vine and we are the branches. Apart from Him we cannot bear fruit, and still, we allow so many things to get in the way of deepening our connection with the only one who can truly fill us. The one who can renew and restore us. I can’t help but think of the 19 men that are beginning their SoulWell journey today. One of which is my husband whom I love so much. How long has the Father waited to connect with these men. Truly, deeply, without all the distractions and all the responsibilities. In my mind, I imagine Him waiting with anticipation and outstretched arms. A smile on His face; because he knows that He has something special in store for each and every one of them. Just like all of us who’ve embarked on this journey before them. Jesus is waiting...calling us back to Him. Inviting us to grab a chair and come sit with Him for a while. Oh how sweet it is to be able to join in His goodness and love. One conversation can change so much. All we have to do is make the time. Would you join me in praying for this new group of men as they begin their journey of drawing closer to the one who knows them best? If you have stayed away from the Savior too long or better yet, if you’d like to discover Him anew, join us on the next SoulWell journey. I promise, He will meet you right where you are! You only need to make the time. See you at the well. https://youtu.be/33yIPTvURfk Bathsheba
